Money to be raised through NHAI, has AAA rating
Prime Minister Housing Scheme will also be made along the highway
The central government has estimated an income of one lakh crore rupees in the next five years through tolls. This year though the toll is estimated to be Rs 28 thousand crore. Earlier it was estimated to be 40 thousand crores. Also, the government will save Rs 16,000 crore by changing the earlier scheme of highway in the country. This savings will be in the form of land acquisition by changing the highway paths.
Land acquisition cost Rs 10-20 lakh per acre
Union Highway, Road and MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari said in an interview that earlier the plan was to get a new highway from Mumbai to Ahmedabad highway. As this lease is fully developed and hence the cost of land acquisition here was very high. The land here was 3 crores acres. However, the land acquisition prices will be Rs 10-20 lakh per acre for the new highway that will be changed by this scheme. In this way, the savings of Rs 16,000 crore from this will be in the form of land acquisition.
Distance from Mumbai to Delhi will be completed in 12 hours
Nitin Gadkari said that the distance from Delhi to Mumbai can be completed from this highway in 12 to 12.30 hours. This highway will originate from Sona (Gurgaon) and reach Mumbai via Alwar, Jhabua, Ratlam, Vadodara. With this, the lands of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra will be acquired. Trains can run on this road at a speed of 120 km.
Logistic parks will be built along the highway
He said that after the highway is built, the land next to it will also be ours. Here we will build a logistic park. This will give us additional income. For example, we will give land to companies for petrol pumps. We will get commission per liter on the sale of petrol, diesel and gas. A total of 22 green express highways are being built to strengthen the economy. Many of these highways will be completed within three years.
The highway will be connected to the railway station, port, airport
Gadkari said that the Delhi-Meerut highway will be completed in 7 months. Its distance can be covered by trains in just 55 minutes. While the distance of Delhi-Amritsar can be completed in 4 hours. He said that most of the highways would be connected to railway stations, ports and airports. There will also be a Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, where people will be able to live. Out of a total of 62, 32 projects have been awarded to companies for construction so far.
New technology needed for MSMEs
The Union Minister said that the leather industry in the country has a total turnover of 1.45 lakh crore rupees. Of this, 45-55 thousand crore rupees is part of the export. Therefore, we plan to upgrade MSMEs. New technology has to be given. We will rate the MSME and prepare it for listing on the stock exchange. We already have a separate stock exchange for MSMEs.
Target to spend 15 lakh crores on infra
Gadkari said that the government will infuse equity of Rs 15,000 crore for MSMEs. For this, we have talked to 10,000 investors in the US, investors from Dubai etc. so that they can invest here and this will give a boost to MSMEs. This will upgrade our economy. We want to increase foreign investment in MSMEs. Our target is to invest Rs 15 lakh crore in Infra over the next two years.
Budget deficit estimated at Rs 10 lakh crore
Nitin Gadkari said that the budget deficit of the Center and states is estimated to be Rs 10 lakh crore this year. Because our economy has been affected by Corona for the last 5-6 months. Therefore, we are also working on a plan to increase liquidity to speed up the economy. For this, there is a huge need to invest in sectors like road, railways, aviation, ports, shipping, power and infra. We are planning to raise money through NHAI (National Highway Authority of India). NHAI is rated AAA.
