Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia addressed the first session of the new batch of Principal Training Program on Monday. According to the Department of Education, IIM Ahmedabad is giving leadership and empowerment training to the principals of 50 Delhi government schools. For this, SCERT Delhi has tied up with IIM, Ahmedabad.
Addressing the training program, Manish Sisodia said that the principals of 700 schools have received training under this program. When we started four years ago, we had a vision to bring change in our schools through this leadership training program. We wanted to empower the principals by giving them the power of financial decisions to make and implement decisions for their schools.
During the video conferencing, Sisodia said that the principal runs the school, while the minister and officials are only facilitators. Further Sisodia said that it is important for the principals of schools to take full responsibility of their schools. We want to see Delhi government schools as decentralized autonomous institutions.
Manish Sisodia, during this time, appealed to implement online classes in the Corona era strongly in schools. Sisodia said that in this era of uncertainty when schools are closed and regular classes are not being held, the importance of online learning increases.
